Various writings and interests of Stevie Broc
Introduction
It is this section of my website that I dedicate many of my ideas for helping people with the progress of their wellbeing. I have many diverse interests, many different practical methods and powerful insights that create personal harmony and happiness. And because by nature I love creating opportunities for personal growth through sound education and communication it is hoped that in here others may find what they are looking for... Stevie Broc
My views on songs, music, books, films and paintings.
What do all these things have in common? Self-expression. The expression of emotion, of thought, of the intellect. Through these various mediums the lives of humans are enriched the world over. When a song is sung with just the right feel, it can express in us that overpowering sense of belonging to all that exists. It may dissolve the dread of loneliness and heal our wounds. It may reflect powerful moments of our lives by simulating real world manifold experiences and thereby stimulate the hope to continue when perhaps all appears lost or forlorn. And it is the same for all the mediums of art. All arts are symbolic representations that encourage us to maximize our ability to self integrate; to know the self, to stabilize and to balance our sometimes thwarted perspectives.
Life events do impact on us, and at these times it is important to seek the stimuli that art provides in order to restore happiness and our sense of purpose. Often the listener or the viewer will relate with a piece of art in order to share with others their special moments actually lived. This interaction can help to release the spirit, to free the mind from the shackles of the sense of aloneness. When we find that the things we particularly love and introduce to someone are loved equally, we obtain a certain heightened sense of satisfaction that we had provided that specially treated someone with a special gift. This higher sense of self satisfaction can in turn lead to strengthening intimate bonds with others and create wonderful mutual and enduring feelings of love.
So it is that art has many useful purposes. And although we need not be proficient in creating art directly, the distribution of art and its import into our lives can be seen as enabling us to make better sense of the world in which we live and to stimulate us its use to bring happiness and comfort to those we love to help.
On the internet.
I am so very pleased that the internet exists. It is truly a window to the world. It can help literally billions of people to find all they that ever dreamed possible. It is the most exciting technological development ever to have been created by humankind. No more do we need gigantic paper filled libraries. No more do we need to pulp timber to service the print media. All can be got and read and stored and shared electronically on the internet in computers and in e-books. We now have access to numerous television programs, to numerous radios, to numerous print media outlets. And the cost to create all of this has been so much reduced as a consequence that it is possible for individual creators like me to create and to share parts of myself with the world without having any part of my creations compromised. No more does one need to gain the approval of the once high and mighty powerful medium publishing moguls, nor depend on them as they help themselves to the lion's share of the profits. I can create and launch and promote my various forms of art to the world unencumbered, unfettered, challenged only by the normal rules of commerce and other forms of art that are likewise similarly popularized. The contest is now based more on substance and not necessarily on circumstance.
There is so much learn from the internet. People can access all the latest information on any subject. Most of it is free, but neither can people be blamed for using it as a medium for selling products, because without sales there can be no enduring creation progress. So long as these businesses conform to high ethical business standards then they will provide a solid platform on which the buying public can base its trust, and thereby they will not cause harm or be harmed in the process. Also, it is very important that Governments maintain their vigilance, to regulate and control commerce so that the wider business community and the public are protected. And what better regulating medium is out there than the internet itself. Because just as many people have access to it, so also have government regulating bodies. The internet has done more to reduce world economics to a level playing field than has any other regulating body, and therefore is truly worth the investment of using it, in learning from it, and progressing world knowledge.
On the importance of centering on God
My life would not be complete without having a central force on which to base my hopes, my dreams and ideals. For me, God lives within. And I do believe in an afterlife. But I am not necessarily a Christian, a Buddhist or a Moslem or even a Hindu. I embrace many parts of all these belief systems, as I do likewise of many philosophical theories, and so in a greater sense I am a universal person. I am not encumbered by dogma or doctrine, therefore my spirit remains free. My mind is liberated, free to think as I choose. For me, it is sufficient to have faith in a God force. Because without this faith, life becomes rather dull and uninspired, and has no meaning.
As such, it has been my special quest to search for plausible reasons and phenomena that demonstrate the existence of God. And I have devoted practically the whole of my professional life to this search, and I thrive on the challenge. It is a challenge because the world with its many wondrous advances in science has in many ways convincingly discredited religion, philosophy and the like. And there is virtually nothing by which religion formerly argued for reasons of faith that hasn't been overturned by science with still more profound though Godless theories and explanations. As a consequence, we are becoming more conditioned to a "Godless" world. And like I said before, without faith in God our lives are meaningless. And so why should this continue thus?
My faith in God and the afterlife, to continue to exist as a personality after death, was confirmed at the time when I encountered the "Light". This experience is detailed in the introduction to my novel "Eternal Liaisons", which is included for sale in this website. It wasn't a "Near Death Experience", but what is known as an "Ecstasy Experience" (and not the type of ecstasy experience induced by drugs). Meeting the Light occurred when a series of enlightening feelings had overwhelmed me. It only occurred once in my lifetime, but has since had such a profound effect on my life that I am fully convinced of the truth of it. My only sadness is that I was never again to repeat it. And I find it very difficult to explain the the realism of it to others. Especially as science seems to hold that anything that appears like this can be explained as a function or rather "malfunction" of the brain.
And so, to satisfy myself, more than anything else, I have searched for satisfactory reasons why I should believe that my Light experience was the result of external forces, rather than forces internally generated. What evidence can I use to support its wider acceptance? I suppose the answer might be found in describing the benefits of the encounter, that I could not have gained from the normal Lightless living experience. What were these gains? Did I receive any special powers? What changed in my life?
For many years leading up to my encounter with the Light, now a little over 15 years ago, I went through a devastating period of unemployment. I lost my self confidence. I had lost the ability to progress materially. I was humbled and perplexed by life. Yet during all that time I studied hard, philosophy and religion, and I tried all I could to find solace in the lessons of history. Then the Light experience occurred, and my self image suddenly improved. My attitude became positive, and I took risks that I could never have taken during all the years beforehand.
I think back on that period before the encounter with the Light and I feel that in that sad state of affairs I could not have realized the things that I have since accomplished in my life. I have since written a couple books, one which is included in this website, and a screenplay, then I sang and recorded songs, which are also included herein, and recently I have produced my website. All the while I had continued to construct major engineering projects.
So in a special kind of way I did receive certain special powers. And those powers came from centering my life on a quest to find God.
Another way to find the reality of a God force is to look hard at scientific discoveries, as follows:
I understand that science is only just beginning to take steps toward understanding the "biofeedback" loops of all natural systems. In other words, every part of matter appears to be subject to an interaction with a hyperphysical force in an outer-worldly dimension. Science is beginning to see our three dimensional world like a skin on an even greater inner multidimensional process joined to ours invisibly. Put simply, we are part of a grand network of invisible feedback loops that enable the forces of life to function as we are able to observe them. Particles of matter disappear into another dimension and return instantaneously as a kind of feedback process that in turn influences the chemical codes of biological change. Without this interaction, errors in the DNA chains that alter species biologically, that occur seemingly randomly, unpredictably, would not occur, and thus life could not adapt to changes of the environment. Therefore, given this, then the God force truly is something tangible, and not necessarily a figment of our imaginations. The whole of evolution is thought to be a consequence of unpredictable random events. Then if such is the case, it must a consequence of thought, because thought is random, unpredictable, and certainly not automatic. If life is subject to automata then one could argue that a god force does not exist. However, it is widely believed that the evolution of species occurred because of random error changes to DNA code, and therefore cannot in this light be said to automatic (unthinking).
There, you have my theory that a God force should exist. If we equate thought to random events, then what other possible explanation is there?
However, we also know from science that when certain bacteria populations are starved of a particular food source, this stress in turn induces a small percentage of these populations to alter their genetic code in order that they can eat alternative and hithertofore poisonous food sources to survive. This can be proven to occur "automatically", since the experiment repeated produces the same result. This is called "Directed Mutation" (see hyperlink below), and there are many websites outlining this process. Hence, this evidence suggests that the biofeedback loop is an automatic process, not random and unpredictable, which theoretically means that thought processes are not involved in DNA change. Such automata rules out a God force.
So where do we turn?
For me, I am content to think of God as having had no interaction with the creation of the natural world. And this was primarily as a result of my encounter with the Light. I learned in that encounter that God was not responsible for all the tragedies of our world. I learned that God simply had no power to influence natural change. And to me, because of this, such a God has and always will remain as the highest source of goodness. God has created a world beyond this one, where our personalities continue to exist after death. A place that in many ways resembles our own. But does more. In that other world it is possible to time travel, to experience different lives, to learn and grow beyond all our wildest imaginations.
But where does that leave the creation of our world? Why has it appeared? What purpose does it hold for us? In many ways it seems to be a thing apart from the world of a good God. Certainly, it has its moments of grandeur, of beauty, of glory, of love, but these things are rare. In the main, it is for humans to create a paradise in this world, by maintaining its focus on the next, without which we will return to the days when anarchy reigned and people subsisted on fear. It is wonderful that humanity has created a system that promotes long life and education.
The creation of the natural world appears to have grown from a need to determine itself, as something that desires goodness, but has no other way than to perpetuate its growth and development through a process that inflicts upon itself pain and hardship. And therefore, it is ultimately blameless. Is it a thinking process? Many random events in the natural world tend to indicate that it is, but its thought is limited to the production of animate objects, like a factory machine, but with a difference; it appears to have feelings, it appears at times sympathetic, it seems to have a need to join with higher more developed systems. But it is ultimately governed by its desire to survive. And this overrides all. Therefore it cannot be seen as a comfortable relationship, and should never be worshipped as such.
Hence a good God must be seen as something separate to the natural world, as having had no hand in its creation.
Although... God does appear to communicate through human thought. It is evident to me that this is plausible and not a figment of the imagination. One only needs to realize that any true encounter with God results in a positive event. This is not the same as dreaming. It is known that 80% of dreams are negative. Dreams tend to deal with stress and emotions, and can often cause the dreamer to feel depressed. Science has studied "waking" dreams, which occurs in the frontal cortex of the brain, and even these are primarily negative, resulting in negative attitudes. By comparison, an encounter with God results in positive feelings, and promotes strong intellectual health.
What I am essentially saying here is that God, who has appeared to me separate and quite apart from this natural world, holds the promise for a better future for one and all living on this planet. God represents eternity, and does appear to review our lives before we are permitted to enter its greater Kingdom. So it appears very important to do good here on earth, if good is what people desire in return upon death. There are many ethical teachings in all the religions that describe this review process. And they are true. Good behaviour is desirable by God. Judgment is made, and lessons are issued to each of us. How these things are handled are to be decided between you and God alone. There appear to be remedies in the hereafter, but what are the detail of these entail, I do not know. My time with God revealed things personally to me, about me, and therefore what happens to others I could not discern directly. That I believe is for you to find out.
The main thing however, is that we aim to communicate with God, and seek help to find our forward through the living experience. And that seemed to me to be the best lesson I learned from my encounter with the Light. I hope to continue my studies of this living experience well into the future. And I look forward to dealing with all that life has to offer me.
On Other Topics
The following are some websites that I feel are worthy of looking at. I will continue to post my writings to this website, as things become more apparent to me. I have experienced many different cultures during my life, and I do respect the values and people the world over. I have a great affinity with Chinese and Japanese cultures. I love their philosophies, and I have enjoyed working with them throughout my career. I have also enjoyed some wondrous moments with peoples of the Pacific, and also of peoples of Bangladesh. I am a multicultural man, and I believe in the integration and liberation all humanity from tyranny so that we can all benefit from the experiences of each other.
